How much is this going to cost me?
You can have a fully functional website for as little as $12.95/month if you are willing to do the work yourself.Custom "skins" for our do-it-yourself website builder begins at $400 + hosting fees.
Website and Development begins at $1200.
Consulting fees (including search engine optimization, development, webmaster services and website audits are based on $65/hour. Daily or weekly rates are available for On-Site projects.
All projects begin with a comprehensive proposal that includes your options with assoicated costs and timeframes spelled out in detail. We don't believe in surprises or overbuilding.
What other costs are waiting to surprise me?
Your site needs a domain name ($15/year) and hosting services ($8/month to $40/month)Some sites will need additional software unless your hosting includes them free. Possible costs will be professional photography, licensing, paid submissions to search engines.
How long will it take?
Crucible Designs has an excellent turn around time. Most sites will be complete in 14 days from beginning project.
When can I expect results?
It takes between 6 weeks to 6 months to get listed in the search engines that accept free listings. Pay per inclusion search engines list your site (ad) within days. Proper promotion includes press releases and inclusion of your web address on all print materials.
Will my site make money?
A website is a marketing tool. If your product or service has a demand we can make sure it gets seen and make it as easy as possible for your potential customers to in fact buy your product or choose your services. Not all sites generate direct revenue.
Can I maintain the site myself?
Most of our sites include a content manager that allows you to add, edit and delete content whenever you need. This CMS tool requires being hosted on our servers. If you choose another hosting company, the CMS tool may not be available.
What is:
- domain name - this is the address that humans find your website with. This is your www.yourbiz.com address. It is actually tied to a numerical address that computers translate the .com into.
- site hosting - This is the service that actually stores the data that makes up your website. All photos, text, flash movies etc have a physical location on a special computer called a server.
- server space - How much your hosting costs is dependant in part on how much room is needed on their server to host your site. Text uses the least space, images use more storage space.
- bandwidth - How much data is accessed through the server (roughly). Hosts measure this amount in time periods.
Can you build a "Flash" website?
Yes, but we rarely recommend a non-html based site. We specialize in visitor friendly, search engine optimized websites. Flash sites are neither. A handful of educational or game related sites are suitable for Flash sites. If you like Flash technology, we can integrate some of the more impressive features into a traditional site which gives the user the best of both worlds.
